The growth and change we’ve experienced this year has reminded me how critical every employee is to the success of an organization and just how important it is to match the right talent with the right companies.
Matching people with companies is about more than just finding the right skills and experience. It’s about building strong teams – closing the gap between the talent you need and the talent you have. The “good-on-paper” candidates don’t cut it when companies have to run lean, and every employee needs to pull their weight. Attitude and chemistry are just as important as the hard skills required for the job.
Evaluating candidates’ soft skills and determining their potential impact on our clients’ teams, culture, and productivity are big parts of our process. Letting go of team leaders and making staff changes in my own organization have prompted me to analyze our recruiting processes. We’ve made adjustments that enable us to better determine a candidate’s long-term impact on an organization.
Our own growing pains have given us the opportunity to be more exact in the candidates we deliver and serve our clients better.
